for new, self sustaining ways of thriving.

B LIGHT RESTORATION CENTER WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES ON NOV. 3, 2015.

The video below shows the history of Shammah Outreach and process it took to transform an old, blighted building into the B Light Restoration Center's new home.

Breakfast is currently served Monday - Saturday from 8:00 am - 10:00 am to an average of 35 individuals daily during the spring and summer.

Shammah Outreach and Consulting Services has begun to take the calling found in Isaiah 61:4 seriously.  Flint, Michigan has approximately 33% abandoned properties (depending which source is cited).  This issue known as blight is seen as a liability to the city, and leaves a negative image in mind when seen.  However, Shammah Outreach had access to two abandoned properties to salvage items that can be used for repurposing projects. The name for the Center came from this concept: "B Light", turning the negative into something positive, just like Jesus does for us.

The majority of individuals served are those who find their "home" on the street.  The goal of B Light Restoration Center is to give individuals an opportunity to have structured things to do that will empower them to refrain from street life.  After attending the various activities (Adult Ed., Bible Study, art, support groups, etc.), helping out around the Center, or following through with their individualized goals, our neighbors can earn points to redeem for showers, laundry, kitchen use, and items for their home when they find housing.
